Thor, the powerful but arrogant Norse god, is banished from Asgard by his father, Odin, after recklessly reigniting an ancient conflict. Stripped of his powers and cast to Earth, Thor lands in New Mexico, where he encounters astrophysicist Jane Foster and her team. As he adjusts to life on Earth, Thor learns humility and begins to develop a bond with Jane.

Back in Asgard, Thor’s brother Loki seizes the throne, revealing his true heritage as a Frost Giant and his plans to betray Odin. Loki’s schemes threaten both Asgard and Earth, prompting Thor to confront his own flaws and regain his worthiness to wield Mjolnir, his enchanted hammer.

When Loki sends the Destroyer to Earth to eliminate Thor, the god willingly sacrifices himself to protect Jane and the townspeople. This act of selflessness restores Thorโ€™s powers, enabling him to defeat the Destroyer and return to Asgard to confront Loki in a climactic battle.

Thor stops Loki’s destructive plans but is left heartbroken when Loki seemingly falls into the void. The film ends with Thor accepting his responsibilities as a protector of Asgard, while Jane continues her research, hinting at their eventual reunion. Thor combines action, humor, and mythology, introducing the character as a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
