Blue Beetle (2023) follows Jaime Reyes, a young Mexican-American man from El Paso, Texas, who returns home after college and discovers a mysterious alien artifact known as the Scarab. The Scarab bonds with Jaime, granting him a powerful, high-tech suit of armor that gives him extraordinary abilities, including super strength, flight, and advanced weaponry.

As Jaime learns to control his new powers, he faces the villainous Victoria Kord, a businesswoman who wants to harness the Scarab’s technology for her own gain. With his family’s support, Jaime embraces his role as Blue Beetle, battling Kord’s forces while learning about heroism, identity, and sacrifice. The film highlights themes of family, legacy, and cultural identity, while marking Jaime as the first Latino superhero in the DC Extended Universe.
