Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) is set five years after the battle in Chicago from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The movie opens with a devastated world where the Autobots are no longer trusted by humanity, and the U.S. government, led by Harold Attinger (Kelsey Grammer), has declared war on them. In the wake of the battle, a new organization, KSI (Kinetic Solutions Incorporated), has emerged, headed by Joshua Joyce (Stanley Tucci), who is using alien technology to create his own artificial Transformers, including a version of Optimus Primeโs robotic design.
Enter Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), a struggling inventor who stumbles upon a broken Optimus Prime and revives him. Cade, his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz), and her boyfriend Shane (Jack Reynor) quickly become entangled in a conflict with KSI, as the company seeks to hunt down Optimus, believing heโs a threat. Meanwhile, the villainous Lockdown (Mark Ryan), a bounty hunter sent by an alien race, pursues Optimus Prime for a much darker purpose.
As KSIโs experiments with transforming alien technology lead to the creation of a new breed of Decepticons, including the sinister Galvatron, Optimus Prime and the Autobots must face the escalating dangers and protect humanity from this new, devastating force. The battle culminates in a showdown between the Autobots, the Decepticons, and Lockdown’s forces, while Cade and his family find themselves caught in the crossfire.
The film ends with Optimus Prime defeating Lockdown and uncovering the true intentions of the alien race that has been manipulating events. In a dramatic conclusion, Optimus warns humanity of greater threats in space and decides to leave Earth to confront them, setting the stage for future battles.
