“Resident Evil: Apocalypse” (2004) is the second film in the Resident Evil series, directed by Alexander Witt and based on the video game franchise of the same name. The movie continues the story of Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) after the events of the first film, and it expands the scope of the biohazard outbreak caused by the Umbrella Corporation.

The film begins shortly after the events of the first movie, with Alice recovering from the horrifying events that took place in the Hive, a secret underground laboratory beneath Raccoon City. She has now been exposed to the T-virus and enhanced with superhuman abilities, but her memory is fragmented. Alice is struggling with the aftermath, and her quest for survival leads her to Raccoon City, which has now been overrun by zombies and mutated creatures.

Umbrella Corporation, the corporation responsible for creating the T-virus, has quarantined Raccoon City to contain the virus outbreak, which has turned much of the city’s population into zombies. The corporation plans to release a nuclear bomb to wipe out all traces of the infection.

Meanwhile, a small group of survivorsโ€”Jill Valentine (played by Sienna Guillory), Carlos Oliveira (played by Oded Fehr), L.J. (played by Mike Epps), and Nemesis (played by Matthew G. Taylor)โ€”attempt to escape the city. Jill Valentine, a former S.T.A.R.S. officer, and Carlos Oliveira, a mercenary, team up with Alice in their efforts to survive. They are being hunted by the monstrous Nemesis, a bio-engineered creature created by Umbrella that was once a human member of the S.T.A.R.S. team. Nemesis now serves as the primary antagonist, working for Umbrella, and relentlessly pursues the survivors.

As the group fights through hordes of zombies and mutated creatures, they make their way to the Raccoon City Police Department in search of a way out. Along the way, Alice gradually uncovers more about her past, realizing that Umbrella has been experimenting on her, enhancing her physical abilities and manipulating her memories.

The survivors discover that Umbrella Corporation has developed a new weapon called “T-virus”, which is capable of turning humans into zombies and creating terrifying creatures. As Alice and the group try to escape, the city becomes increasingly chaotic, and they realize the bomb is about to be deployed to eradicate the infection.

In a climactic showdown, Alice faces off against the Nemesis, who is torn between his loyalty to Umbrella and his humanity. Alice manages to kill Nemesis after a brutal battle, but the situation grows dire. The survivors race to escape the city before the bomb is dropped. Alice and Jill manage to escape, but the film ends with Alice discovering that she is far more than just a survivor of the outbreak. She is now part of a larger experiment orchestrated by Umbrella, and her journey is far from over.
