Prey (2007), directed by Darrell Roodt, is a survival horror thriller set in the wilds of South Africa. The film stars Bridget Moynahan, Peter Weller, and Carly Schroeder, and focuses on a familyโ€™s harrowing fight for survival against a pride of ferocious lions.

Tom Newman (Peter Weller) travels to South Africa with his second wife, Amy (Bridget Moynahan), and his two children, Jessica and David, for a safari vacation. Tensions arise between Amy and the children, who are still adjusting to her presence in their lives.

While on a guided safari, Amy, the children, and their guide venture into a restricted area. They become stranded when their jeep breaks down, and the group is soon targeted by a pride of lions. Cut off from help and with time running out, Amy must protect the children and find a way to escape the deadly predators.

Meanwhile, Tom desperately searches for his family, facing challenges of his own in the wilderness. The film builds tension as the group struggles to outwit the lions, who are hunting them relentlessly.

Prey received mixed reviews from critics. While some praised its premise and use of the South African setting, others criticized its predictable plot and uneven pacing. The performances, particularly by Moynahan, were commended, but the filmโ€™s reliance on standard survival horror tropes was seen as a drawback.
